Studying for your Quiz??

8.2/3 8.g.5

Vocabulary that was used during class:
Vertical Angles: are angles that share a point and are across from each other.
Such as Angle 1 = 3, 2 = 4, 5 = 7, 6 = 8
Supplementary: Angles that add up to 180 (Straight line)
Complementary: Angles that add up to 90 (Right Angle)
Acute Angles: measure between 0 and 90
Obtuse Angles: measure between 90 and 360

Students will need to be able to explain how to measure an angle using a protractor.
1) Line up the axis (point of the angle) with the dot on the protractor.
2) Line up the zero line on the protractor with the bottom line or line that is named first.
3) Count from zero until you reach the other ray.
(Acute angles have the smaller value; Obtuse angles have the bigger value)
4) Write your answer with the degree sign.

Students will need to be able to find the missing angle using the relationship as clues.
Please see my earlier posts that include videos used in class.
